Buying the policy is easy. Making sure it pays is the work.

Most people find out what their policy actually covers on the worst day of their life. INERCA exists to make that day a non-event — we analyse your risk line by line before you sign, structure the cover to match it, and act for you when you claim. Our specialists carry more than 29 years of combined experience in Botswana's insurance industry.

Our approach

Three things that decide whether a claim pays.

Almost every declined claim traces back to a decision made long before the loss — the wrong sum insured, a section left off, a condition nobody explained. This is where we do our work.

Before you buy

A real needs analysis

We work through your buildings, stock, plant, vehicles, staff and liabilities line by line — the same schedule we use for corporate accounts. It is the difference between a policy that looks right and one that is right.

At placement

Cover structured, not sold

Sums insured set against real replacement values, the right sections selected, and the exclusions pointed out in plain language rather than buried in a schedule you will never open.

At claim stage

We argue your claim

Claims advocacy is the part people only value once. We prepare the claim, push it through the insurer, and challenge a repudiation we believe is wrong. You are not doing that alone.

Free tool · no obligation

Find out what your business is exposed to. Three minutes.

The needs analysis we run for corporate accounts, turned into something you can do yourself on your phone. Tap through a handful of questions about how your business operates — no policy numbers, no documents, no exact figures — and get a written risk profile naming the covers that apply to you and the gaps that matter most.

You see your profile before we ask for a single contact detail.

Cover placed with insurers who can pay it.

Your policy is issued and your claim is settled by the underwriter. Our job is getting you to the right product and holding the process to account.

Who carries the risk

Who actually carries your risk.

INERCA Holdings (Pty) Ltd is licensed by NBFIRA to act as an insurance agent for two underwriters. Your policy is issued and your claim is paid by them; our job is to get you to the right product and to hold the process to account.

Short-term & general

Hollard Insurance Company of Botswana

The largest non-life insurer in Botswana following its amalgamation with Regent Botswana, and part of the Hollard Group — founded in 1980, privately owned, with more than 10 million policyholders across four continents and a presence throughout the SADC region.

Covers everything from motor and household through to engineering, marine, aviation and liability classes.

Life & funeral

Westlife Insurance Botswana

Our appointed life underwriter, covering life assurance, funeral benefits and the personal protection side of a household or employee benefits programme.

Where a family needs both — a funeral plan and cover on the house it lives in — we structure them together rather than as two unrelated products.

Schedule of cover

What we place.

From a single bakkie to contractors all risks on a live site. If you are not sure which of these applies to you, that is exactly what the needs analysis is for — start with a conversation, not a product.

How it works

Five steps, and you only do the first one.

A genuine sequence, not a slogan. Here is what happens between your first message and your policy documents.

STEP 01

You tell us what to protect

Ten minutes on WhatsApp, the phone, or the form on this page. No documents needed yet.

Today
STEP 02

We run the needs analysis

Buildings, stock, plant, vehicles, staff and liabilities, worked through line by line and turned into insurance data.

1 working day
STEP 03

We quote and recommend

You get the cover priced, the sections explained, and a written recommendation with the reasoning behind it.

1–2 working days
STEP 04

Cover is placed

You accept, we place and confirm cover with the underwriter, and your policy schedule and documents follow.

Same day
STEP 05

We stay on it

Service meetings quarterly or on demand, a renewal review each year, and claims advocacy whenever you need it.

Ongoing
Already a client

Lodge a claim.

Report it to us as soon as it happens, even if you are not sure it is claimable — late notification is one of the most common reasons a valid claim gets repudiated. Lodging online fills in Hollard's own claim form for you and hands it back as a PDF, so you are not printing anything or deciphering an insurer's layout.

Have these ready if you can

  • 01Your policy number — on your schedule, or we will look it up
  • 02Date, time and place of the incident
  • 03Photographs of the damage or loss
  • 04Police report or case number for theft, accident or malicious damage
  • 05Quotations or invoices for repair or replacement
  • 06Third-party details where another person was involved
What we stand on

Our values.

Our vision is to deliver customised risk management solutions to our clients on a convenient management information systems platform, through empowered employees and communities.

Trust

Our relationship with clients and stakeholders is built on trust and respect.

Loyalty

Long-term relationships, kept current through continued research into our clients' trading environment.

Integrity

We uphold the highest standards of integrity in all our operations.

Collaboration

Our people are empowered to serve clients in conjunction with our stakeholders.

Community

We form partnerships with the communities we operate from, and prioritise youth empowerment.

Corporate social responsibility

The communities we work in are stakeholders, not an audience.

Our communities are key stakeholders in our business operations. We prioritise serving them through continuous engagement with the representatives who speak for them — for information, for validation, and for support. Two things we have done about it.

01  ·  Seepapitso Senior Secondary School, Kanye

A court reclaimed, a future renewed

The netball court at Seepapitso had been losing ground to bush for years. It is where students learn teamwork, build confidence and find out what they are good at — and it was disappearing under the vegetation.

To mark our fifth anniversary we chose to commemorate the milestone by clearing it. Our team worked alongside the school community, with plant on site, until the court and its surroundings were usable again. Not a cheque and a photograph — days of work, finished.

02  ·  INERCA Baby

Touching hearts, one bundle at a time

We launched INERCA Baby with a visit to the clinic — donating bundles of baby clothes, warm blankets and feeding bottles to mothers and their newborns, so that a family's first weeks start with a little less to worry about.

The day was carried by the people who turned out for it. Together we are building a warmer, brighter future for the next generation.

Fill this in and it opens a message to our WhatsApp with your details already written out — you just press send. Or email it instead. Either way a person who understands the cover picks it up, not a call centre.

No cost to enquire

Quoting and advising costs you nothing. Our commission is paid by the insurer.

Analysis before product

We work out what you are exposed to first, then price it — not the other way round.
